MOTOR FATALITY.

ft£2so COMPENSATION. [PER PttUSS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, May 14. In connection with the new Brighton case, in which a young man named Moorhouse was riding a motor bicycle on New Brighton beach and ran over and killed a lad named , Gourlay, no bill was being' found by the Grand Jury yesterday. Mr Wilding, solicitor for the Moorhouse fimily, sent a letter to Gourlay's parents enclosing a cheque for £350. Young Moorhouse is a boy at school, whose parents are away in England. He behaved in a most manly way in regard to the accident. When he saw an accident was imminent he made every effort to stop the machine at great personal risk. He also did everything in his power to render asr sistanoe. The parents of the boy Gourlay fully recognise Moorhouse's manly behaviour and accept the cheque in the spirit in which it was given. The beach is now under the control of the New Brighton Borough, and no such accident is likely to occur again.
