> [ran PB-sas association.] * Dunedin, April 10. On March 31st a serious assault .is alleged to have occurred at Komahaka. Isaac Hurring, a flaxmill owner, is alleged to have asaulted Frederick Field, a labourer, kicking him, attempting to choke him, and dragging bun along the railway line some distance. Afterwards Hurring is alleged to have fired several shots at Field from a gun. He was arrested and remanded to 12th inst. on a charge of shooting with intent to do griovous bodily harm. A five-roomed house, occupied by R. J. Gardner, at Roslyn, was totally destroyed by fire thiß evening. Insurance £260 on furniture and effects in National Office. The house was the property of Captain Neville, of U.S.S. Co. The insurance, if J any, is unknown.
