The Acting-Premier, commenting on the judge's decision in the Wren City Tattersall's case, said it was difficult to imagine what violation of the Act would be sufficient to induce the judge to grant an order provided the offender acknowledged his guilt, and promised not to repeat the offence. RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIP. Perth, April 10. At Boulder racecourse Postle ran Day for the championship of the world. The distances were 200, 300, and 460 yards. Postle won all distances easily. TATTERSALL'S. Melbourne, April 10. An employee of the Tasmanian Parcels Express Company, the alleged agents of Tattersall's sweeps, was fined £5 and £10 10s costs for being found in a common gaming house, viz., the Company's office, which was recently raided by the police.
