ROMNEY BREEDERS' ASSOCIATION.

♦ The annual meeting of the above association was held at Masterton 01 Tuesday evening. Mr G< Wheeler (President) was in the chair. In approving of the report and balance-sheet, votes of thanks were passed to the President, secretary, and treasurer. The following officers were elected :■ President, Mr G. Wheeler (re-elec-ted); vice-president, Mr H. V, Fulton, Duneuin; treasurer, Mr W. F. Jacob. A bonus of £5 was voted to the secretary, in recognition of the efficient manner in which he had performed his duties. The report of the sub-committee appointed to draw up a definition of a typical New Zealand Romney Marsh sheep was discussed. It was decided, on the motion of Mr Bealey, that " free from kemp " be inserted after the word "tail" in the last line. On the motion of the President, it was then resolved that the description as printed be adopted, with the addition of the above words. It was decided tp discontinue the donation of the Association's champion shields, given last year to the Masterton and Canterbury Show Societies, and that this year they be offered to the Manawatu and Invercargill societies, on the same conditions as when given before. It was decided in future to hold annual meetings at Palmerston at the time of the winter show. Mr T. P. Allen gave notice to move at a special meeting to be held at Palmerston during the winter show, " That at the expiration of the current year, rule 52 be deleted, and registration confined to sheep transferred from flocks already registered or imported sheep accompanied by a certificate from its recognised Flock Book Society."
