THE STOCK MARKET. Messrs Abraham and Williams report: — At the annual sheep fair en Thursday we yarded 17,500 of all classes, one line of 1800 &ood Lincoln ewes, bred by Mr Pkarai.yn, did not come forward in time, and will he offered next week, and another line of 200, bred by Mr J. E. Quotations : —2-tooth ' ewes 15s Id to 17s 6d, small 2-th ewes Hs 6d to 13s 6d. 4-tooth ewes 18s (id, 4, 6, and f.f.m. ewes Iss 6d to IG3 9d, good sound-month ewes 11s U l^s, aged ewes 9s 4d to 10s 6d, oil ewes 4s lid to 7s, good lambs 9s to 9s '6d, medium lambs 6s 6d to 8s 7d, cull lambs 3s 3d to 6s lid, *tocth wethers 14s to 14s 6d. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Limited, report as follows on their Pahiatua stock sale held on Tuesday :—A heavy yarding of sheep was submitted to a large attendance of the public. Taken right through the quality was better than usual, consequently a good sale resulted. Competition for better classes of breeding ewes and lambs was keen. , however, of whien. there was a fair offering, were somewhat slow of sale, several of the lots in this class failing to find purchasers. Taken all round the sale for sheep was the most satisfactory wa have had so far this season. A really good line of two-tooth ewes topped the market, making 17s, and a straight station line of four-year-old ewes reached 15s 7d- In cattle the yarding consisted elnefly of female stock, and although- prices were low the whole of the, catalogue, with the ese >eption of t\m small lots, changed hands at auefjbto. Cattle— Fat and forward bullocks £5 18s to £6 6s, three-year-old steers £4 16s, two-year-old steers £2 16s, two-year-old steers £2 16b, yearling steers 21s to 31s, heifers in calf 31s to £2 7s 6d, springing cows £5, fat and forward cows £3 to £4 6s, store cows 30s to £2 Is.
