BURNSIDE MARKET.

Dunedin, Wednesday. At Burnside market 202 fat cattle were yarded. Prime bullocks and heifers sold well, but medium quality was neglected. Best bullocks £1242s Gd, medium £8 to £10, light-weights £6 10s to £8 ; heifers of extra quality £10 15s, medium and light £5 to £8. Fat sheep — 2200 penned. A large number were medium quality wethers and ewes, with a few extra pens of fine ewes and wethers. The sale opened at prices from Is Gd to 2s per head below last week, but firmed considerably towards the finish. Best wethers 23s to 255, extra to 27s 3d, good wethers 20s to 225 ; best ewes 19s to 21s Gd, extra to 255. Fat lambs — 890 penned. Prices were about the same as last week's. Best lambs 17s to 18s, extra to 19s 9d, good iambs 14s to 16s 6d.
