The heavy rain which fell last night had not affected the wicket, which was again in firstclass order. The visitors, held the wickets until a little over an hour to the drawing of stumps, their score being 880, towards which Armstrong contributed 175, Mailer 67, MoLeod 85, Wilkinson 19, Ransford 10. Aitken 16. The skipper, who had such a large share in the compilation of the runs, was at the wickets just two hours and twenty minutes and only one possible chance was debited against him. He batted beautifully, each .ball being accurately gauged, and where necessary plenty of power was applied. His chief scoring strokes were the pull and forward on and off drives. Mailer batted nicely, his action eliciting admiration from the spectators. The MoLeod • Armstrong partnership realised over one hundred runs. Monaghan was by far tbe best bowler on the looal side, and his performance of seven wickets for 97 was full of merit. The match between the Cheltenham C.G and Mr Cnrrin's team of shearers, which was played at Cheltenham on Saturday, 21st inst., resulted in a win for Cheltenham by an innings and two runs, Mr Currin'a team scoring 28 rans in the first innings and 71 runs in the second, to Cheltenham's 101 runs. For the shearers W. Milner (19), H. Brown (18/, and W. Howell (18, not oat) scored double figures in the second innings. For Cheltenham, C. Millen (32), J, Hare (25), and W. The match between the Feilding Cricket Club and Bunnythorpe Club resulted in an easy win for Feilding by 61 runs on the first innings, the visitors having to play with five substitutes owing to several of the team failing to put in an appearance. Feilding batted first and scored 99, Govern 18, Chriatensen 16, F Mason 15, H Hill 10 and Shirley 10 (not out) being the highest scorers. Bunnythorpe could make no stand against the bowling of Govan who secured nine wickets and were all disposed of for 88, Trevena (11) being the only double figure scorer, and on following on the last man was disposed of with the score at 86, G. Bartholomew 14, Jansen 20, little 14, and Price 14, making most of the runs. Govan and Mason bowled. best for Feilding.
