Received Jan 80,9.18 a.m. St Petbbsbubg, January 29. Speeches made on the fifth by members of an organisation called the League of Russian Men, urged the Czar to maintain the autocracy. | The Czar remarked : " I shall bear alone the burden of power placed upon me. I feel convinced the people will help me. I give an account of my power to God." The League entreated the Czar not to grant equality before the law to the Jews. The Czar promised to think the matter over.
