COMMERCIAL.
, Messrs H. E. Morshead and Co. report : — During the week we have held the following sales : — A cleaving sale on account of Mr W. Hunter, stock sale at Cheltenham, usual mart sale, a land sale on account of Mr Staffan, and a saddlery sale. Mr Hunter's sale was very successful, every line being cleared — buggy £2i, piano £12, suite £10. There was only a moderate yarding at Cheltenham owing to the boisterous weather, and also to the fact that there were other sales on the same day, and the business dons was limited. At the mart sale, an average entry of pigs, mostly of inferior quality, met a good demand. A small entry of poultry maintained late rates. The land offered on account of Mr Staffan was passed in and disposed of privately at a satisfactory figure. We quote: — Cheltenham — Empty heifers, £1 ; mcd ; ium fat ewes, lls 9d. Rooms — Pigs, weaners, 9s 3d, 9s 9d ; small stores, 10s to 15s. Poultry, fowls (inferior), 3s to 3s 4d per pair; ducks, *ls 6d per pair ; geese, Gs per pair ; turkeys, 9s Gd to 10s per pair. Potatoes, 7s Gd per sack.
