Water Schemes.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — I noticed in Mr W. E. Chamberlain's pumping scheme for the supply of water for the town of Feilding, considered at the last meeting of the Water and Drainage Committee, that there was no mention made of the quantity of water to be supplied per day. He states that the pumps are to be driven by turbine water-wheels by water taken from the Kiwitea stream by means of art open race taken from opposite Messrs Bartholomew's old shed, etc. Ist, I should like Mr Chamberlain to inform the ratepayers the number of gallons he proposes to pumpVinto the reservoir per day for the supply of the town ? 2nd, What fall he will have on the pumping site for working the turbine, taking the water from the point mentioned? 3rd, The quantity of water that will be required to work the turbine to pump a sufficient quantity of water into the reservoir to supply the town ? I am, etc., CIIARIiES BIUY.
