Newton King's weekly stock report : — Cattle: At Stratford on Tuesday, I had a very full yarding, principally young cattle coming forward. There was a good demand for bullocks and store cows, but empty^ heifers and springers were a bit easier. Two or thi:ee pens of nice 2 to 2iyt steers were yarded, but- vendors' reserves were rather high, and most of these went home unsold. Yearlings remained at about late values. Calves made 25s to 28s 6d ; yearlings, 36s 6d to 43s 6d ; 12 to 18mth steers,. £2 5s to £2 7s 6d ; 2yr do., ±3 Is 6d to £3 ss; 3 to 3£yr bullocks, £4: 10s 6d ; empty heifers, £2 5s to £2 12s; springers, £2 12s 6d to £3 143 6d ; store cows, £2 5s to £2 12s. At Waiwakaibo on Thursday there was a good muster of stock, and nearly all lines were "well competed for. Weaners made 13s to 24s ; yearlings, Q7s 6d to 87s ; 2yr steers, £6 5s ; 3§yr forward bullocks, £8 7s 6d to £3 9s; empty heifers, £2 5s to £2 13s ; springers, £2 15a to £3 15s ; store cows, £2 7s to £2 11s; springers, £2 10s to £5 17s 6d-; fat bullocks, £5 Bs. -'
