Since tbe beginning of the financial year, tbe Wellington Land Board has disposed of 154 sections, totalling 26,489 acres, the annual rental of which is ;£1619. , Forty -seven perpeluil leans sections, of a total area of 18,991 acres, have also been converted into freeholds ; the capital value of these is .£16,065. No fewer than 361 sections of Crown land in the Wellington district have not paid the instalment of rental due in July last, and amount to £2385. Of that number 118 were granted time, but 245, who owe £1700, are to be again called upon to pay it.
