The general manager of the National Bank of New Zealand has received a cable from London intimating that the Board of Directors have declared an interim dividend for the half year at the rate of six per cent per annum. Wellington, This Day Tbe Cabinet has decided to retain the services or Judge Mair, of tbe Native Laud Court, but Judge Wilson and Judge Ward are to be retired. The latter however will resume bis magis terial duties under tbe Justice Department. Auckland, December 17. The licenses of 21 cab - drivers are to be cancelled in consequence of the strongly adverse report of Inspector Cullen. This Day. A fierce north west gale yesterday did a good deal of damage in ihe' country dis'ricts, stripping be trees of tbe young fruit, and breaking the grain heads. The weather has now moderated.
