Marriage.

A very pretty marriage was celebrated yesterday in the Church of Eugland, Sanson. The contracting parties were Mr Alfred Henry Sanson, son of Mr Thomas Sanson, and Miss Caroline Rosina Grantham. The church was literally crowded with tlie numerous friends and relatives of the happy couple. The Rev. Innes Jones, of Feild ■ ing, officiated, owing to the unavoidable absence of the Rev. Delacourt Russell. Tbe bride, who was accompanied by six bridesmaids, was dressed in white silk, trimmed with cream lace, white veil aDd orange blossoms. Tlie bridesmaids were Miss Annie Good and Miss Jessy Sains bury, in cream delaine dresses, with cream sailor hats ; Misses Maude and Gladys Kirton wore cream creponnc dresses, with white hats trimmed with daisies; Miss Catherine Rose Good and Miss Inez Kirton — the smallest, but not the least important, of the party — were dressed in pale blue and cream creponnc dresses, with white hats. Each bridesmaid carried a shower bouquet. The bridegroom was accompanied by Mr Jas. McNab and Mr Frank Bailey. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr Charles Grantham, of Marton. The members of the church choir assisted, and after the ceremony the bride and bridegroom marched down the aisle to the strains of the Wedding March, beautifully rendered by the organist. The usual showers of rice and flower leaves were vigorously distributed as the newly-married couple drove away to the residence of the bridegroom's parents, where a sumptious wedding breakfast was prepared. After the good things had been done full justice to, Mr J. A. Bailey proposed the health and happiness of the newly- married couple in a most felicitous speech, which was deser vedly applauded. The groom having suitably replied, an adjournment was made to the lawn, where a pleasant hour or two was spent in dart throwing at targets. In the evening a ball was given, at which the guests were very numerous, and dancing was kept up with vigour until an early hour this morning. Among the guests were representatives from all parts of the district, where the two families enjoy the respect and esteem of everyone. The presents were numerous and of value. We join in wishing the newly- married couple long life and happiness.
