The Stockton Mine Disaster.

o (Per Press Association.) Sydney, January 13. After au exhaustive enquiry into the circumstances attending the recent disaster in the Stockton mine, the ]ury were unable to agree to a verdict and were discharged. The chief point of disagreement was whether the colliery official was guilty of culpable negligence or mismanagement. Some considered he should be exonerated, others thought they had been slightly remiss and a slight censure would meet the case. The jury unanimously refused to entertain the question of manslaughter.
