Meeting of Creditors
« A meeting of the creditor.-! of Richard Geange, laborer, of Apiti, was held today. Mr Scott the Deputy Official Assignee, presided. Mr Ratiiff proposed, aud Mr Jolly (representing Messrs Cobbe and Darragh) seconded, That it is not necessary to hold a pubho examination of the debtor. — Carried. The following is a statement of the assets and liabilities of the debtor: — Liabilities— W. Pearson, L 4 12s ; Wan ganui Herald Newspaper Company, Limited, £1 6s 9d ; John Bartholomew, £26 12s 7d ; JR. Burne, Birmingham, £4 lls 3d; Thomas Moffatt, Birmingham, £21 10s ; Henry Rutherford, £23 bs 5d ; Ratlift Bros, £16 14s 9d ; S. J. Thompson, £28 5s Id ; Cobbe A Darragh, £9 ; James Simpson, Birmingham, £11 Total. £146 12s Bd. Assets -Household Furniture, £10; Wearing apparel. £3; wages due from L. Oldham, £7. Total, £20. Leaving a deficiency of L 146 12s 8.1. j Mr Scott, D.0.A., stated that he intended in all cases which came before him under the Act, if no complete statement of cash receipts and expenditure are furnished as in this case, he intended to fully examine the debtor himself, and so become personally cognizant of the whole surroundings of every case brought before him. The sitting then closed.
