While experimenting with Professor de Bavay, the Bacteriologist, and during an operation on a patient, Doctor O'Hara was struck by the antiseptic qualities of the flow of chyle from the thoracic duct, and he induced the Professor to experiment with this organism with a view to discovering whether it was agnostic to typhoid germs. This new bacilline has been administered to patients suffering from typhoid and diptheria, and wonderful effects for it are claimed. The experiments are progressing.
