Mr Isherwood's Instrumental Concert

The draft programme for Mr Isherwoods concert has come to hand and is far and away the best selection of instrumental music that haa been submitted to a Feilding audience. The fine orchestra of 22 performers under the oonductorship of Mr W. H. Smith, of Marton, will play the overtures to " Cenerentola," "Lainpa," "La Couronne dOr," and the old and favorite " Tancredi." The violin solos played by Mr Isherwood are De Beriot's concerto in D and an operatic selection from " William Tell," by Osborne and De Beriot. The concerto will be accompanied by a full orchestra, and in the selection Mrs Esarn, of Marton, has been kind enough to undertake the arduous piano accompaniments. That the pieces have been carefully selected perhaps it is only necessary to mention that Mons Poussard, the eminent Frem-h violinist, selected the same concerto for his first performance in Wellington during his present visit. It is a work that taxes the capabilities of the greatest performers. The vocal part will also be extremely good, Miss Kitchen, of Wanganui, singing two songs. Other vocal items, viz., two baBS, two tenor, two comic songs complete the programme of 18 piecep. l The programme is printed ou back of the tickets, an iuujyatiou which is worthy of imitation.
