The Dunedin Fire

A gang of men were set at work today to turn ever the debris of the fallen buildings at the scene of Sunday's fire, in case any more bodies might be under it. Not a great deal of progress has been made. Some of those in the building at the time of the collapse are positive that all those in it did not escape, while others aie equally positive all but those killed got clear. Subscription lists have been opened to assist the family of Miller the carter who was killed. Following is the corrected list of the insurances affected by the conflagration ■ —Glasgow and London LIOOO, City of London L 3750, Equitable of Pari**. LSOO, Fire Insurance Association LISOO, Go*, vernment of Amsterdam L 250, National (Home office) LSOO, Patna Belger L 750, A Sur Belgar L 750, Ll"vds L9OOO, the Koyal L2OOO, Northern LIOOO, New Zealand L2OOO, Equitable of New Zealand L 1250. London and County L 250. National of New Zealand L 1750, South British of New Zealand L3OO, Phoenix L 2500. London and Lancashire LSOO, Liverpool and London and Globe LSOO, Sun L2OO, United of Sydney L7OO, Union of New Zealand LISOO. Victoria of Melbourne L2OOO, total L 47.950 Tlie funerals of the four victims were largely attended. Esquiilant's was a military funeral.
