He mentions that lie" Las purchased, on behalf of a; syndicate of Swiss gentlemen, a large, bl/ck of nearly ''4ooo acres of virgin land in Pukekohe, 30 miles outh ■ ; ot\ Auckland, on the railway line toiflamilton* It is intended to survey and. subdi-'i vide the block, and then have it- settled bv industrious farmers, chiefly Swiss. He believed there is better scope for the hard working-, thrifty tillers of the soil in the =colbriies than in the old country. The new; settlement is to be called; Helvetia;' I ,,'■'..
