In the House of Commons to-day, Sir Charles Dilke, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, in reply to a ques.ion, stated that a conference of Ambassadors of buropean Powers to consider the position of affairs in Kgypt will hold its first meeting at Stamboul on Thursday, 22nd instant. ' Sir Charles added that no representative of Turkey would be present at the conference. Later. i No fresh news of any importance is to hand from Egypt. Matters are now quieter, and the great excitement which has been manifested of lat# in that country is now gradually subsiding.
