A BIG SUCCESS

TUAKAU FIRE BRIGADE DANCE THE FIRST THIS YEAR The first dance of the year lo he held in Tuakau took place on Saturday night in Lhe Oddfellows’, hall under the auspices of the Tuakau Fire Brigade, and in spite of other attractions in surrounding districts, proved to he one of the most successful for some time. The very large crowd enjoyed up-to-the-minute music supplied by Geo. McGuire’s orchestra, while appreciated extras were played by Mrs V. List and Mr F. Muir. Mr J. Kelly proved an efficient master of ceremonies. A spot waltz was won by Mr R. McCarlen and Miss Muir, while the winners of the Monte Carlo were Mr D. Bennett and partner. A novelty competition for a box of chocolates was won by Mr M. Gower. Patrons arc advised to watch the Times for further announcements in regard to these popular monthly dances.
