THE CLEVEDON BRANCH ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Glovedon "branch, of the Women’s Division was held in the hall on Friday, the picsident, Mrs D. M. Bryan, presiding over a good attendance of members. After the singing of the National Anthem and the reading of the Greed, Mrs Bryan expressed sympathy with the relatives of Private Ilema, who bad been killed overseas.
The president read a comprehensive report on the year’s activities and thanked all who had helped in any way. Mrs Bryan reported that the patriotic work done by the ladies in the various groups comprised:—Soldiers: 179 knitted garments, 74 hussifs; merchant service, 140 knitted garments; Red Gross, six quilts, three dressing gowns, one bed jacket, 11 flannel capes and 00 pairs of pyjamas; Lady Galway, six quilts and eight petticoats as well as parcels and Christmas cakes to the Glevedon boys overseas.
The secretary in her report said there were now 90 seniors and five junior members. The usual donations to Hie community chest, rest home, hospital fund and housekeeping fund had been sent. The treasurer’s report showed a credit balance and a substantial banking account. The competition points prizes for the year resulted: Mrs E. M. Wilson 1, Mrs J. A. McPherson 2, Miss A. Dow 3. The best bloom competition resulted: (Miss A. Dow 1, Mrs A. F. McCollum 2, Mrs N. J. Sutherland 3. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs N. J. Sutherland: vice-presidents. Mrs J. A. McPherson, 'Mrs A. Mon cur and Mrs F. Hyde; secretary. Mrs G. McKenzie: treasurer, Mrs J. A. Luke; social convenor. Miss A. Dow: competition secretary. Mrs T. I-IydcT exchange table, Miss F. Stephens: committee, Mesdnines S. Eyre, I. R. .Tones and E. M. Wilson: housekeeping advisory eomniillce, Mrs G. McKenzie and Mrs ,T. A. Luke: delegates, president, secretary and vice-president. .Mrs G. C. Munro moved a vote of thanks lo Hie outgoing committee. Shoulder sprays were presented to them and Ihe newly elected president.
