YOUNG PEOPLE’S MEETING GOOD JUMP BY HERON SEASON’S. POINTS WINNERS The members of the Papakura Amateur Athletic Club held a wind-up day for the season, on Saturday when a good company of young people participated. With a few exceptions all were regular competitors during the past season: There was a fair crowd of spectators who were treated to an enjoyable afternoon’s sport. The president,- Mr Frank Osborne, commented on Hie club’s good showfug for flic season just ended and congratulated the club and its officials on a successful year, despite the difficult war conditions. A feature of the afternoon’s programme was the fine effort of Wallace Heron, who cleared the bar in the high jump at sft. 94in. He has been the club’s must improved and outstanding performer.
