WAR SERVICE AUXILIARY
BRANCH AT TUAKAU FORMED LAST WEEK A meeting of women interested in the formation of a branch of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary was held in the town board room at Tuakau town hall on Thursday last. The convener was Mrs Win. Burnaby, a member of the Franklin central ’committee. There was a very large attendance, and all displayed keen interest in the aims and objects of the Auxiliary which were outlined by Mrs R. G. Clark, of Paerata, and Mrs H. J. Thomas, of Pukekohe. Mrs G. C. Revel!, of Pukekohe, who was expected to be present was unable to fulfil the engagement. Following the addresses a branch was formed. The following representatives of women’s organisations in the district will constitute the committee: Mrs A. F. Escott (patriotic committee). Miss A. Donaldson (Lady Galway Guild), Mrs A. Hodgson (Opuatia, Physical Culture Class). Mrs W. 0. Hewitt (Tuakau Women’s Institute). Mrs C. Lapwood (Women's Division). The committee will be completed by Hie appointment of two delegates to represent Whangarata, one each from the Anglican and Presbyterian Women's Guilds. Plunket Society and Junior Division. When the committee is complete the officers will be elected.
