Lawn Tennis in Franklin District
INTER-CLUB MATCHES PUKEKOHE TO PLAY WABUKU OTHER MATCHES POSTPONED Owing to the races tomorrow very few clubs are able to fill their teams to play the Franklin Lawn Tennis Association’s interciub matches postponed from last week. The Pukekohe reserve A match with W’aiuku will lie played on the local courts and some good tennis should he seen, particularly on the ladies’ side where Hie teams should be well mat died.
Pukekohe will he represented by tlie following: Men. A. Gill. P. Hickling, C. Morrin and E. Lewis; ladies, Miss E. Fergusson, and Mesdames P. 1 Tickling. A. Gill and S. Douglas.
SCHOOLS’ FIXTURE The annual schools’ champion of champions tournament under ihe Franklin Association will be held on the Pukekohe courts tomorrow- week, starting at 9 a.m. Entries for this tournament close with Hie secretary on Monday and unless at least eight entries are received for eacli event it will lie abandoned for this season. For the last eight years the miniature cups for this tournament have been presented by Ihe Herbert Smith Trust who donated tlie original challenge cup. Owing to the funds of the Trust now being exhausted these cups will not now he available and for this year's tournament the president of the Association, Air G. G. Munro, is donating them.
