TWO BOYS ARRESTED

RAILWAY STATIONS ENTERED PUKEKOHE AND BUCKLAND SMART WORK BY THE POLICE The Pukekohe and Buckland railway stations were entered by thieves late yesterday afternoon. The entrance at Pukekohe brought no gains while that at Buckland yielded only ten shillings. The offences were discovered when the stationmaster at Pukekohe, Mr W. E. Richdale, went to his office at about 5 p.m. and found that entrance had been gained by breaking a window and releasing the catch. There was evidence of attempts being made to open drawers. Mr Richdale, who had noticed four boys in the vicinity of the station about four o’clock and had seen them go towards Buckland, telephoned the porter there, Mr A. H. M. Hull, who on investigation found that the Buckland station bad also been entered. Entrance had been gained through the ticket window.

TWO ARRESTS (MADE A smart arrest of two of the young men concerned was made by Const aiile C. Robb of Tuakau, who, however, was unable to manage the four. Sergeant T. Kelly and Constable A. P. Packer of Pukekohe. were soon on the scene and a search continuing until after dark was made for the other two. The two boys arrested were sent to Auckland this morning and appeared in the Children’s Court there today
