A POPULAR GAME ESTABLISHED IN LARGE CENTRES In every large centre in New Zealand this game is taking a popular place in recreation. It can cater for large numbers in a limited space, in a short time, with a minimum requirement in the way of equipment. In Hamilton for instance, 280 players are catered for in a hall 50ft x 35ft, in six hours continuous activity. it is the intention of the Physical Welfare and Recreation branch to spread interest in the game throughout tiie Dominion. A pioneer effort in Hi is connection has been undertaken by the branch’s Waikato Recreation Officers. They are taking representatives from various sports bodies and training them as coaches in the game so that they may in turn coach teams in their respective organsations. Ruby, athletic, harrier and association football clubs and physical training organisations, have decided to take up the game as an excellent avenue of training, as it combines ali the requirements of skill, speed and stamina, without a great risk of personal bodily injury.

The present Hamilton, championship team swill be taken from town to town to give demonstrations of the actual game. in places where no suitable hall is in existence, the game is being promoted as an outdoor summer evening game. Suitable floodlit . courts are being prepared in such places. The same lines of approach will be applied in cither areas.
