NOTES FROM POKENO PLUNKET SOCIETY AFFAIRS ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of the Pokeno branch of the Plunket Society was held in Hie Pokeno hall on Friday afternoon, there being a fair attendance of mothers and friends. The president, Mrs J. Dean, presided. The annual report read by the president and the reports of the secretary and treasurer were adopted. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Dean who has given her services as president since the formation of the branch 11 years ago, also to Mrs J. Scott, the retiring secretary. Mrs Dean was re-elected as president, Mrs A. Pendergrast secretary, Mrs Parker, Mrs Rodgers and Mrs Motion vice-presi-dents. Last year’s committee was re-elected.

Competitions were won by Mrs J. Scott and Miss Lorna McGill, and an embroidered cloth by Mrs Hannah. A stall in aid of the funds, -was in charge of Mrs A. E. Brown, and proved a great success financially.

A dainty afternoon tea was served by the committee.

Personal

The many friends of Mr Robert Munro will be sorry to learn that he has been admitted to the Auckland hospital for treatment. Mr Munro has not enjoyed good health for several weeks.

The Misses Wright and Lalor have sold their farm to a former resident of Wanganui.
