Mr A. Brough, a member of the Tuakau railway station staff, is on annual leave.

Miss M. Hardy of Pukekohe, leaves by the Monterey this evening for Sydney on an extended visit to her sister, Mrs E. Wilks.

Mr H. F. Price of the Pukekohe Public Trust Office, has been transferred to the Auckland office; Mr W. Greenwood of Auckland has been transferred to Pukekohe, Miss M. Guilliard of Pukekohe has been transferred hack to Waipukurau, and Miss D. 1,. Charles of Pukekohe, has been appointed to fill Miss Guilliard s position.

The late Mrs Jessie Addis, who met with a fatal accident in Auckland on Friday last, was horn at Tuapeka diggings, Otago, 71 years ago. She was educated at Greymouth, and at Opotiki in 1880 married Mr William John Addis. Mr and Mrs Addis resided in

Opotiki until 1012 when they removed to Ellerslie. Four of their sons served in the Great War, one of them, John, being killed in action, while the others were wounded several times. Mr Addis, senr.. passed away in 1931. and since then Mrs Addis has been residing with her son. Mr J. L. Addis of Queen street. Pukekohe. Mrs Addis is survived by four sons —Messrs H. D. and P. W. Addis. Rcmuera road. E. IT. Addis. Mangere, and J. L. Addis Pukekolm. and two daughters —Misses E. J. and U. A. Addis, who are at present in Sydney. There are eight grandchildren. Mrs Addis was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends, and this was testified In by the large attendance at the funeral on Sunday.
