Proposed New Road.

The proposed new- road to Graham’s beach was the subject of lengthy discussion at Monday’s meeting of the Franklin County Council. A report on the survey was presented by the engineer, Mr J. F. McArthur, and it was also stated that three of the four settlers through whose properties the road would pass, were prepared to give the land free of cost. A deputation urged that if the engineer’s report was favourable that the road be constructed as quickly as possible, and pointed out the advantages over Tram Gully road.
