HARVEST THANKSGBVING SERVICE.
A harvest thanksgiving service was held at St. James' Anglican Church, Ardmore. on Sunday afFernoon. A
large congregation, which filled the church, and the service, with special prayers for harvest and the economic conditions, was conducted hy the vicar. A strong choir led the hearty singing, with Mrs Michel at the organ. The preacher was the Rev. Jasper Galder, Auckland City Missioner, and he gave a rousing address on the economic evils of the day and the Christian remedy for them. His sermon made a profound impression and hrought home to the congregation the misery, poverty and hunger which is heing endured hy many people in Auckland to-day. There was a liberal supply of harvest, gifts which were carefully packed and sent to the Auckland City Mission for distribution amongst those in need. ' r ~W[3\
