CHURCH NEWS.

HARVEST FESTIVAL SERVICES. ST. JOHN'S. TUAKAU. St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, Tuakau. was most artistically decorated last Sunday, when the Harvest thanksgiving services were held. In the morning, the Rev. J. Cumming preached to a good congregation from Ihe text. "What shall we render unto the Lord for all His benefits toward us." The voluntaries played included "But the Lord is mindful" (Mendelssohn) and "Sabbath Bells" by Christabel, which includes Mendelssohn's "O for the wings of a dove." Master Peter dimming was at the organ. The evening service was largely attended, the subject of meditation being "God's Goodness." The choir sang, "How excellent" from choral anthems, and "O Taite and Sel" (Ooss). Miss Fulton was organist. The offerings of fruit and vegetables were most generous and were sent to the orphan homes.
