LAWN TENNIS.
FRANKLIN ASSOCIATION.
CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TOURNAMENT.
To-morrow, commencing at 9 a.m., the champion of champions tournament, for cups presented by the Franklin Lawn Tennis Association, will be held on the Pukekohe club's courts. Some splendid play should be witnessed, and tennis enthusiasts should not miss this opportunity of seeing the best players of the county in action.
J. C. Charters, representing Aka Aka, ranks very high in Auckland tennis, and is a likely winner of the men's championship. As Charters is leaving the district, this will probably be his last appearance in this event. In the ladies' event, Miss Rewa Johns, last year's winner, is not defending the title, and is unlikely to be playing in local tennis again. A likely winner of this event is Miss Bernicc Bishop, of Pollok. the winner of the girls' junior event at the Auckland championships. At this meeting she was presented with the "Dunlop" racquet, for the most promising junior. The draw for to-morrow is as follow :
