Lambing Season.

In the Onewhero and Pukekawa districts, lambs are becoming more numerous each day, the lambing season being now in full swing. As reported in the Times previously, lambs made their appearance at Onewhero several weeks ago. In practically every field containing sheep, the pretty little youngsters are to be seen gambolling about in playful mood. Enquiries made by a Times reporter when in the district on Tuesday, indicated that the percentage of lambs was very satisfactory and that the mortality among ewes was low. The weather is somewhat severe on the newly-born lambs but there are fortunately few farms on which shelter is not provided for the ewes and their offspring.
