LOAN COMPANY'S SALE. LATE VALUES MAINTAINED. There was a good yarding of cattle and pigs at the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company's sale at Pukekohe yesterday. Late values were fully maintained; practically all cattle changed hands. Quotations are: — Dairy: Best cows and heifers, £lO to £l2; others, £8 to £9 10s; backward sorts, £5 to £7 15s. Beef: Fat cows and heifers. £7 to £8 ss: forward cows. £5 to £6 15s. Stores: Cows. £3 lo £-i lbs: boner cows, ft los to £2 15s; yearling heifers. £'i to V JS 7s f',d: others. £2 10s lo £:i 15s; heifer calves. 11 to i't 15s. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week:— Butler: Quiet but steady, new season's Hi/- per ewt: stored. 109/- to 110/- per cwt. The market for ewes is more active owing to increased demand. The demand and prices for lamb are steady. Beef is unchanged. Trade generally is brighter with a better demand.
