WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

PUKEKOHE BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Pukekohe Women’s Institute, presided over by Mrs Hosking, was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Monday. Another very large gathering was present when eight new members were welcomed and enrolled.

Mrs Hunter, the president Of ihe Waerenga Women’s institute, contributed a song which was much appreciated and enjoyed. ‘ Airs Wells gave an instructive demonstration on how to make pastry. After supper Miss Potter gave a very interesting address on child psychology.

During the evening a guessing competition was won by Mrs Charlesworth. Community singing brought the meeting to a close. The hostesses were Mesdames Macdonald, Lawson and Miss Gray. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Mesdames Wilks, Bonner and Jobson.
