Those interested in technical education should note that an important meeting is advertised to take place on Friday night at the new High School for the purpose of discussing the aims, etc., of technical education and the enrolment of pupils.

Mr. Harry Bilkey has just returned to Pukekohe after spending a fiveweeks’ holiday at Wellington and the Wairarapa, with his daughters, Mesdamss Hoggard, Hopkins and Congalton. Mr. Bilkey is greatly improved in health.

At the last meeting of the Papakura Town Board, held on February 21, the chairman moved a vote of condolence with Mrs Jones and family in the loss sustained by them in the death of Mr. David William Jones. The motion was carried in silence, members standing.

The imported Berkshire sow, Hobartville Betty, by Highland Boomer B.H.P. 2349, out of Highland Beatrice, under 12 months, owned by Mr. Jas Rock, was awarded first prize and championship at the Franklin show on Saturday. This magnificent little sow won the Berkshire sow championship at the last Auckland A. and P. Show.

Mr. Stanley Hill, 8.A., is an expert on lucerne growing, and lucerne is the coming fodder for all farmers who want to get the maximum of feed from the minimum of ground. On March 4, at 2 p.m., at the Ti Ti farm, Mauku, Mr. Hill will give a demonstration of lucerne growing and invites every farmer in the district of Franklin or out of it to attend and just see for himself what lucerne can do.
