MANUREWA TOWN BOARD.
LAST WEEK'S MEETING. The Manurewa Town Board met last week when there were present: Messrs C H. Lupton, Max D. King, W. T. Cox, G. Gallaher, G. Smith, the clerk (Mr. H. Kay and the foreman (Mr. W. Amiss). Owing to the absence of the chairman (Mr J. -Corin), who is indisposed, the deputy chairman (Mr C. Lupton) presided. Great South Road. With regard to the Manurewa Town Board’s portion of the Great South Road, the district engineer, Public Works Department, intimated that £4OO on a£ for £ basis was available for the work He requested the Board to submit detailed proposals as early as possible. It was pointed out that plans were being prepared as speedily as possible. Crossintj Wanted. Mr. J. T. Freshney requested that a grossing to his gate be made giving him access to his property in Lupton’s road.—Left to the foreman to attend to. Loans. Itwas decided to write the Government asking permission to raise the loan for the reci’eation ireserve at 5V> per cent, instead of 5% as previously arranged. Tenders. Two tenders were received for work in connection with the approaches to the high level bridge. Both were considered excessive and fresh tenders are to be called.
