COMMUNITY CENTRE IN GREEN ISLAND FOR WAR MEMORIAL
Green Island’s war memorial will take the form of a community centre, it was decided at a public meeting in the borough oil Tuesday. A committee was set up to consider specific proposals. It was recommended to the borough council that a plaque, bearing the names of former residents of the district who were killed in the war, be obtained arid erected in the community centre when it was completed. The provisional committee set up to meet the organisations in the district was as follows: —Mesdaines D. Rennie, A. Murie, Messrs K. Stuart, ,J. Mclnnes, C. M. Bell, P. Thompson, H. Winter, and W. O’Neill.
