Mornington. The Mornington Harrier Club crosscountry run held at Wingatui resulted in a win for W. Burrows in the senior group, with A. Jelley second, I. Davidson third, and R. K. Dowland fourth. Burrow's led from the start, and at the end of the first lap w r as clear of A. Jelley, with Davidson and Dowland next, and Tbornicroft, Sanders, and Jamieson close together. In the junior event A. Patton won a good race from W. Speale, with G. Hyslop third, M. Richards fourth, F. Rawley fifth, and A. McMillan sixth. Sealed handicap results were:—Senior: J. J. Everett 1, F. Sanders 2, A. The Leith Club held its junior, senior, and colts’ cross-country championships at Wingatui, In the senior event, A. Forbes v'ent to the lead from N. Arthur, A. W. Cunningham, and P. Arthur. With half the distance covered N. Arthur had a good lead from Cunningham and Forbes. Running freely he increased his lead to 170yds from Forbes, with D. Arthur about 400yds behind him. The junior race was a struggle between F. Perry and S. Baldwin, Perry eventually winning by about 10yds. It. Perry showed good form to win the colts’ race from G. Stichman. Rayner 1, R. Smith 2, J. Napier 3. Fastest time was J. Napier, 39min 59sec. The junior cross-country championship for- the Pope Cup was won by D. Fairweather. In the colts’ three-quarter-mile race T.
