ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
DROWNED IN PELORUS SOUND. James Roadley, aged about 30, of “ The Reef ” property, Pelorous Sound, was drowned yesterday .afternoon when he fell overboard from a small boat in deep water off the beach. It is understood that Roadley had just returned to “ The Reef ” after a trip to North-west Bay. A fairly heavy sea was running. FALL FROM BRIDGE. An inquest into the death of Ellis Grey Hustard, chief petty officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy, aged 28, whose body was found in Grafton Gully on May 24, was concluded before the coroner, Mr A. Addison, at Auckland yesterday. A finding was returned that the deceased died on or about May 19 in Grafton Gully from injuries received as a result of falling from Grafton bridge. ANOTHER MOTOR FATALITY. A man received fatal head injuries when a motor car in which he was a passenger overturned at h corner in Taita yesterday, says a Wellington message. He was - John Derwent Paulin, aged 26, of Nae Nae, a former assistant in the Nae Nae Co-operative Grocery Store. He was a passenger in the back seat of the car, which, as it turned the corner, hit the kerb, mounted a pile of soil several feet high,, and overturned.
