(ltec. 1 p.m.) LONDON. May 15. New Zealand lost the first two singles in the second round Of the Davis Cup tie against Norway, played at Oslo. Johan Haanes defeated J. A. Barry 6-0, 7-5, 6-4, and Jan Staubo defeated R. S. Mackenzie 6-2, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. lOher second round matches beastn to-day. In Dublin, Draga Mitic (Yugoslavia) defeated C. Kemn (.Eire) 8-10, 7-9, 6-3, 6-4, 6-1, J. Pallada (Yugoslavia) defeated J. B. McHale (Eire) 6-3, 6-3, 6-3. In Amsterdam. E. Fannin (South Africa) defeated Hans Van Swol (Holland) 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-2, E. Sturgess (South Africa) defeated Huib Wilton (Holland) 4-6, 6-1, 6-3, 6-2. In Paris, Bernard (France) defeated Ghaus Mohammed (India) 6-3, 6-2, 6-0, Destremeau (France) defeated Sunan Misra (India) 6-1, 6-3, 6-3. In Warsaw, A. Mottram (Britain) defeated Josef Hebda (Poland) 2-6, 6-1, 6-1, 6-3. According to a Warsawbroadcast, the Polish champion, Vladyslav Sotiecki, defeated D. Barton (Britain) in the other singles game. Reception was poor and the score was inaudible.
