FRONTIER DISTURBANCES
HEAVY CASUALTIES REPORTED (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) PESHAWAR, April 28. Since the beginning of the y6ar_4oo Hindus and Sikhs have been killed and 150 wounded in frontier disturbances, says an official statement. Fifty Hindu and Sikh places of worship were burned, and more than 300 people “ forcibly converted to Islam.” and 50 people kidnapped. Lord and Lady Mountbatten arrived at Peshawar from New Delhi to-day to begin a tour of the North-West Frontier Province.
