Earlier in the meeting, Mr Brosnan’s solicitor, Mr E. F. Roth well, told the executive that'any such decision would be challenged in court. Mr Brosnan and liis solicitor had left the meeting before the resolution was passed. Mr Brosnan 'vas called before the meeting to show cause why he should not be expelled from the association. He attended, with Mr Rothwell. who. at the opening of the meeting, stated that, upon the basis of certain facts which he preerred at that 6tage not to disclose, he had come to the conclusion that the meeting was ‘not properly constituted. In fact, it appeared probable that the committee was also improperly constituted and accordingly unable to exercise any powers of expulsion or any other powers. Further, no specific charges hod been made against Mr Brosnan, who was entitled to know what he had to- meet, and should not he required ,to speculate as to. the exact nature of the charge brought against him.
