(From Our Correspondent.) CRICKET. The A grade association match played at Clinton between Milton and Clinton, resulted in a draw, each side scoring 89 runs. Clinton batted first, Nelson 26, T. Grahajn 19, and J. Roy 16, beiug the double-figure batsmen. Bowling for Milton, L. North took 4 wickets for 5 runs, and K. Hitchon 2 for 21. Milton lost 9 wickets for 89 runs, securing the levelling run just on the tick of time. North (51) was Milton’s principal run-getter, while Roy (4 for 26) and Robertson (3 for 18) were Clinton’s most successful bowlers.

As a result of Saturday’s games Milton A and Clutha are now level in shield points, and a play-off will be necessary to decide the premiership for the 1946-47 season. Milton B had a good win over Waiwera at Milton. The visitors batted first and made 74 (Greenfield 28 not out). Bowling for Milton. E. Codings took 8 for 40, four wickets' being taken with four balls. Milton passed their opponents’ score with the fourth wicket, and made 170 (H. Hawke 47, H. Heads 27, R. Burleigh 23). W. Neale was Waiwera’s most successful bowler, taking 4 for 29. • At Milburn the B a team defeated Clinton B by 15 runs. Milburn made 113 (H. .Wisely 27, J. Fowler 25, L. Milne 22, J. Cullen 16 not out, J. Sinclair 12). Bowling for Clinton, J. McLachlan took 4 for 11 (including the “hat trick”), Evans 2 for 20, Wyatt 3 for 37. Clinton were all out for 98 (M. Powley 17, J. Ritchie 15, A. Evans 18 not out). Wisely bowled well for Milbiftn, taking 6 for 46, while Cullen took 2 for 13. BOWLING^ Milton defeated Kaitangata at Milton in a five-rhik game. Neill 14; A. Wethey 13, C. Pennell 26. SWIMMING. Toko. Swimming Club held a successful carnival on Saturday under ideal conditions in Milton baths. Entries were fairly satisfactory, while the attendance of the public was fair. Some imteresting finishes were seen, and a of starting plunge and turns by L. Wilson. (Kiwi) and of the back stroke by Miss M. Wilson (also of Kiwi), were much appreciated. Kiwi, Dunedin, and Balclutha Clubs were represented, and carried off a fair share of the honours. Kiwi members’ successes were: A. Mabon, first 33 1-3 yards junior boys’ breast stroke; M. Wilson, first 33 1-3 yards junior girls’ breast stroke; L. Wilson, first 66 2-3 yards senior men’s back stroke; M., Wilson first-66 2-3’yards intermediate girls’ breast stroke; L. Wilson, second 66 2-3 yards men’s free style ; M. Wilson, third 66 2-3 yards intermediate girls’ back stroke; M. Wilson, third 66 2-3 yards junior and intermediate girls’ free style. Dunedin swimmers were: A. Child, first 66 2-3 yards intermediate boys’ free style; R. Aitken, first 66 2-3 yards junior and intermediate girls’ free style. Kiwi No. 2 team -was second in the 133 1-3 yards relay, while Kiwi No. 1 was third. At night a dance was held, and during the course of this Mr J. R. Wilson, president, presented a miniature cup to Miss I. Hood in recognition of her breaking the 50 yards junior girls’ breast stroke at the recent country championships at Oamaru. This is "the third record obtained by Toko. Club, Colin Wilson (now in Japan) holding the 50 yards junior boys’ breast stroke and the 75 yards intermediate boys’ breast stroke.

PERSONAL. Mr and Mrs T. Moir, of Clarksville, on Monday celebrated their golden wedding. A family reunion was held in the afternoon, while at night the residents of Moneymore-Clarksville district entertained the couple at a complimentary social, _ and they were the recipients of a suitable gift. Prior to leaving Milton for Ranfurly, Mr and Mrs C. Skerrett were met by friends and presented with' a cheque, while Mr Skerrett received a smoker’s stand from his colleagues on the railway.
