PATENTS AND PRISONERS' AID
MEETING OF SOCIETY The monthly meeting of the Patients and Prisoners’ Aid Society, held yester-. day. was attended by Mr W. Downie Stewart (chairman), Miss Downie Stewart, Miss D. Brown, Mesdames C. 0. Mathias, J. Dey, and D. Tannock, and Messrs H. L. Gibson, J. Taylor, C. J. Wood, and D. Tannock. ‘The Perpetual Trustees Co. Ltd. wrote advising that under the will of Mr F. W. Brown the society had been bequeathed £2OO, to be used for t)ie James Powell Convalescent Home, Warrington. Mr J. R. Bartholomew wrote agreeing to remain a vice-president of the society. The agent, Mr A. Steven, reported that 14 patients were admitted to the Convalescent Home at arrington. Sunday church services had been conducted at Seacliff and the Orokonui Home. The Salvation Army band had given programmes of music at those two institutions, and also at the Pleasant Valley Sanatorium during the month. Visiting to the Dunedin Hospital had been carried out, and seven patients from the women’s wards had been transferred to the ConvalescentHome. ' 1 ;
Accounts amounting to £B6 5s Sd were passed for payment, and Friday, March 21, was fixed as the date for the annual meeting of the society.
