Frills Measure Miles in Costumes Of 'Rose Marie'

Four miles of frills have been used in making the frocks worn by the ballet in one scene of ‘ Rose Marie.’ Of white georgette, the frocks are floorlength, and have a design picked out in hand-painted flowers of mauve cyclamen and green.
wears an ensemble of a short flared white skirt bordered with white fur, a hip coat of scarlet, a white fur cap, and fur-topped high boots of white kid. Also in her stage wardrobe is a frock of ice blue, the finely-pleated skirt and bodice of which are trimmed with ivory lace. The wedding frock which is worn by Miss Beattie holds special interest for prospective brides. It is of chalk white chiffon, powdered with diamante, the low waistline, the front and neckline being emphasised by scintillating embroidery. The filmy wedding veil is secured by a coronet of sparkling stones.
Of luxurious materials and modern designs, the frocking for the production is all new. Costumes of trousers, jackets, and high hats in black satin, with hand-painted motifs depicted in red, gold, and white, are worn for the famous Totem Pole ballet.
