YANCEY LEAVING

DEPARTS TO-MORROW MORNING

The U.S.S. Yancey, the transport which arrived with the Merrick from the Antarctic, will sail to-morrow morning for an undisclosed destination. Many of the sailors have made friends in the city, who will hear of their leaving with genuine regret. It is a matter of common comment in Dunedin that the visitors’ conduct during their stay has been exemplary. The icebreaker Burton Island, which was expected to -reach here, late last night or early this morning, is not due now until about 5 p.m., according to advice received by the Otago harbour authorities. The personnel who wijl arrive by this vessel will be approximately the same number as those departing on the Yancey.
