NO OVERSEAS COACH
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION’S DECISION (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 4. No overseas professional coach is to be engaged by the Wellington Cricket Association. This decision was reached by seven votes to four at last night's meeting of the Management Committee. The main points stressed by several speakers opposing the engagement of an overseas coach were the need, first of all, to ensure an improvement in the quality of many of the practice and match wickets, without which any coaching would prove useless, and the devoting of more attention and support to the work being carried out among primary schoolboys by Mr C. J. Oliver.
